Jan. 10, 2011

Siamo arrivati a Roma! It was around 2:30 local time, and I'm exhausted after a long flight. My father and I took a taxi from Fiumicino airport to our apartment on Via Pavone. It just so happens that our apartment is located just off of Corso Vittorio Emmanuele, one of the busiest streets in Rome. However, we are also that much closer to Campo dei Fiori and one of my favorite places in Rome, Piazza Navona. It is a nice apartment, perfect for my dad and me. Not the most spacious, but definitely a well made and well kept place. The first thing we did...eat! Ho fame da morire, as they say. Later on that night, we took a walk to Piazza Navona stopping at the Chiesa di Sant' Agostino. The picture above of the man kneeling is in that church, painted by Rafael during the Renaissance; it is one of a total of 33 works that Rafael did during his entire life. We then finally grabbed some gelato, and walked around Piazza Navona before heading back to the apartment to go to bed. I bet the next day will be just as great!

A new journey

Ciao a tutti e benvenuti! It's Joe Capuano here, but for all intents and purposes call me Giuseppe. For my sophomore directed studies project, I decided to create this blog to keep track of everything I did on my recent trip to Italia and future trips as well. You'll follow me on my trip through Rome and Venice, two of Italy's and the world's greatest cities. You'll read everything I've done, and hopefully I'll be able to post pictures and videos too! Ciao Ciao for now!
